Kristine Chan
Veterinarian
DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology), FAHA
Hi, my name is Dr. Chan, and I am a board-certified veterinary cardiologist (DVM, DACVIM Cardiology, FAHA) at Lenity Vet Specialists + Emergency Care. I am passionate about providing advanced cardiac care and helping pets and their families navigate complex heart conditions with confidence and compassion.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, walking, and yoga. At home I am kept busy by our rescue cat Teddy, our new rescue feral Eleanor ("Ellie") who adopted us, and Kali, our spoiled bearded dragon.
Education
I earned both my bachelor's degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. Following graduation, I completed an internship at the Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA, followed by a Cardiology Residency at the California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, where I achieved board certification in 2009. I subsequently joined Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Heart Institute as a post-doctoral fellow for further cardiac training.
Memberships
I am a Fellow of the American Heart Association, an Affiliate member of the American College of Cardiology, and a California Medical Reserve Corps disaster relief volunteer. I also volunteer with Hope Horizon East Palo Alto.
Work History
After completing my training, I expected to move back home to New York — but I met my husband, a San Francisco native, so the Bay Area is very much home now. I am proud to bring my years of cardiac training and experience to the pets and families of San Mateo and the surrounding region.
