Kayla Caturay
Veterinarian
DVM, Residency Trained in Surgery
Hi, my name is Dr. Caturay, and I am a residency-trained veterinary surgeon (DVM) at Lenity Vet Specialists + Emergency Care. I am passionate about advancing veterinary surgical care and bringing warmth, curiosity, and expertise to every patient I treat.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I find joy in traveling, yoga, hiking, and paddle boarding. I am also passionate about languages and am currently working toward fluency in five — a challenge I embrace with the same curiosity I bring to veterinary medicine.
Why I Chose This Profession
I have a deep passion for advancing veterinary care, with a special interest in orthopedics, including minimally invasive techniques and joint replacement. My dedication to learning and service has taken me across the country through rigorous internships and residency programs, and I am excited to bring that experience to the pets and families of San Mateo.
Education
I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed my undergraduate degree in Animal Science at the University of California, Davis. I most recently completed my residency at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital.
Professional Background
Originally from San Mateo, I have been actively involved in international veterinary organisations, fostering global collaboration and education in animal health. I am proud to join Lenity Vet Specialists + Emergency Care and contribute to a team that shares my commitment to exceptional, compassionate care.
