Hi, my name is Polina Poliakova, and I am a Veterinary Tech Assistant at Lenity Vet Specialists + Emergency Care. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and at ease throughout their visit.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I have a deep love for art, reading, and writing. I also enjoy baking, playing piano, video games, and handicrafts including embroidery, knitting, and sewing. I love learning new languages and tending to my plants here in San Mateo, CA. At home I share my life with two cats — Oscar, a vocal orange cat who rarely seems to plan ahead, and Luna, a strong-willed Siamese Snowshoe who loves nothing more than curling up beside me while I work.
Education
I am completing my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at the University of California, Davis, graduating in 2026.
Work History
I began my veterinary career at Peninsula Avenue Veterinary Clinic, where I worked as a Veterinary Assistant from December 2023 to September 2025, assisting with examinations, preparing vaccines, and managing client communications. I also completed an internship at Lenz Hästfokus, an equine orthopaedic and lameness clinic in Sweden, in September 2025, where I gained experience in radiography and equine patient care.
